·      This article will be helpful in choosing a subcategory of reality TV shows because it focuses in on “America’s Next Top Model” and how the format and production shapes culture. This article also helps me narrow the genera of reality TV shows I research because “Top Model” is a competition show. From this article I can focuses in on other competition shows where players all compete in the same task, the winner comes out “on top” and a prize is rewarded to the finalist.
