Between
the two topics of multimodality and genres there is a clear connecting with how
the point of meaning of the "text" comes across to the reader. I put
text in quotation marks because it doesn't necessarily mean reading or a writing
of some kind. This could also refer to dialog and anything used to
communicate the message. An example that can easily be seen to prove that there
is some kind of relationship between multimodality and genre is when Stan Lee
discusses the creation of the Hulk from comics to the television. In order to
give the illusion and add some excitement for the fact that it wasn’t
incredibly boring Stan Lee originally gave the Hulk the ability to speak while
then when the Television series came out they took away this ability which
added to the effect. The connection here was depending on the way Stan Lee or
whoever was displaying the Hulk they had their own view on how this would get
the message across and what would be the best form as test. What could kind of
be used as another example is the creation of the romantic love novel. These
kinds of novels can get people hooked extremely easy on them. Also usually when
someone wants to get the romantic love story across the author wouldn’t just
make a poster make a comic book. While I saw there is a relationship between
genre and multimodality its also possibly for their not to be any kind of
relationship. I saw this because of movies and books as these come in a lot of
different kinds of genres and it doesn’t necessarily matter as they all can
still get the message across.
