This project requires a lot more thinking and planning than your run of the mill essay project. I think the most important thing about choosing a topic for this project is choosing something that you like. One of my ideas for this project is to trace the lineage and influences of the movie Talladega Nights: The ballad of Ricky Bobby. I personally really enjoy this movie and can notice the references to past movies and characters while I watch the movie. I would start by analyzing the main characters in the movie and trace what other past characters have influenced them into being what they are in the movie. I would also analyze the plot as a whole and compare it to other racing movies and see if there are some similarities between them.  Another idea I have is to trace back the influences of Aerosmith. One can easily identify the aspects of their music that they remixed from other bands. I would choose a few big name songs and analyze the beat and lyrics to point out where their music really originated from. This last idea I have is to analyze the Ford Raptor and research to see if I can find the things that have made the truck into what it is today. I would start by looking at other types of trucks in the same class and looking for similarities. I would also go way back and see if the truck relies on past design to make it what it is today. I believe that this project can be very interesting and intriguing if the right topic is chosen.
