Blog #2

The first idea I came up with that I could use for my genealogy project is Disney. Disney has a wide variety of different examples I could write about. A few of these examples include, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, the Disney Princesses, the numerous cartoons that have been created through out the centuries, and all the movies Disney has ever produced. For example, Cinderella the movie, is a European folk tale that dates all the way back to 1697. The plot from this movie, and the plot from the more recent Cinderella that I grew up watching, do not differ too much. In fact, they are relatively the same, although the Cinderella movie I am familiar with debuted in 2002. This film, Cinderella II: Dreams Come True, isn’t even the original Disney movie, it is just one of the sequels.

Another idea I thought I would easily be able to write about is the remix of tattoos. Tattoos have been a practice that date all the way back to Neolithic times. For example, central and northern European tribes were usually always severely covered in tattoos. These tattoos were generally war-inspired, or based off traditions. Tattoos slowly developed from being made with cuts and wounds from rituals, to today using an ink gun for thrill and satisfaction. Tattoos have come a very long way over the decades, and now serve all kinds of different purposes.

My last idea is to write about Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which first appeared in 1964 as a children’s book. Later it was transformed into two different movies called, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, which debuted in 1971, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which came out much later in 2005. All these anecdotes followed a similar story line, with little differences through out the main plots.
