Since the term was coined, writing has been considered an art and not a science.  There is no particular method to acquire results from writing, there is no set format for writing, and writing does not remain constant over the years.  As new and unthinkable ideas become part of our knowledge, writing must adapt in order to accommodate what did not previously cross our minds.  Writing is the Occam’s razor for communication in that it is the simplest solution for communication and understanding of another’s ideas.  Just like any art from, there comes a time when a new perspective of an idea takes form and the artist uses that perspective and integrates it with the preexisting idea.  This is called a remix.  A remix is when the artist takes an idea, copies the idea, transforms the idea and combines the different ideas into something that has not yet been thought of.  Remixes have resulted in almost all of today’s greatest accomplishments and continues to progressively propel our world.  Writing is just one of the many subsets of the remix ideology.  All writing consist of are letters and symbols arranged in patterns that facilitate the communication of ideas to an audience.  Although it is not a universal language, communication through writing has been around for centuries.  Writing is far from original and is essentially, all just a remix in itself.  What I expect to learn from this course is to continue on this idea about remixes and how they are seamlessly mixed with everything we know and think.  I want this course to teach me to think critically about any idea presented and use my own knowledge to effectively communicate my own version of that idea to any audience.
