I think writing is and can be done by any person, it doesn’t take much talent or intellect to write. Writings are usually done on paper and somehow published, but in this day in age it is becoming more of a norm to post on the internet, where thousands of people or only your closest friends can be subscribed to your work. I use the term “work” loosely because writing can be as simple as jotting down your day dreams or what happened in your day can be a writing. A remix is taking something someone else has done and putting your own twist on it. The twist you add to the original makes it your own. The original can be practically anything such as a writing, a song, or a piece of art. There is a certain connection between a writing and a remix because without an original writing to start with, there is nothing to be remixed. I have high expectations for ENC1102, I hope to be able to go into my sophomore year English courses with confidence after this class. I expect to learn and be able to explain what geneology is. I am also looking forward to the blogs we are required to write throughout the semester. Blogging is something that has my interest and I am excited to be able to have more opportunities to try it out and become more familiar with the idea and styles of blogging. One thing I find very interesting about this course that I have not yet been introduced to in any other class is the optional contract grading. It seems like a very smart and effective approach and I am curious to see how well it works and how my fellow classmates and I do with the new grading system.
